How Contributions Help Your Local CAP – Citizens Serving Our Communities
When you contribute funds to Mississippi Wing’s missions for America, you’re joining with a team of dedicated, generous, and committed volunteers.
The Mississippi Wing CAP relies heavily on member dues and charitable donations to help support initiatives that are not fully funded by the Air Force, such as cadet special activities, aerospace education field trips, and member training opportunities.
Direct donations help offset the cost of equipment, facility expenses, mission supplies, uniforms, and cadet activities. Our members are generous not just with their time, but with their personal money, often members help pay for other members to attend training or by covering meals. This is especially true with cadet training costs.
Here are a few examples of typical expenses where your financial contribution will help:
- $30 – $1,000 would help a Cadet (youth ages 12-21) by offsetting Special Activities Scholarships that by defraying the cost of Leadership training for our Leaders of today and tomorrow, Wilderness First Aid, or other special activities.
- $100-$1,000 could be used to purchase equipment used in training and actual life saving missions, and other special needs.
- $800-$1,400 Sponsors a cadet to attend a week-long Civil Air Patrol Flight Academy, reaching towards Solo Flight status.
- Upwards to $15,000 for total pilot training.
Your Donations are Tax Deductible
The Mississippi Wing and its local squadrons/units are part of the larger National Civil Air Patrol, which the IRS has recognized as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, EIN: 75-6037853.
